Final day of the US Sailing's Rolex Miami OCR and after the final Medal races in the new Olympic format the medal positions have been decided. Only the leading ten boats in each class raced in the Medal race on Friday - the race could not be discarded and counted double points. The rest of the competitors sailed seperate races to decide the remaining positions overall. No doubt there will be considerable discussion among the sailors after the racing, only the second time the format has been tried.

The British team sailing under the Skandia Team GBR banner have taken four gold, two silver and two bronze -winning medals in seven classes. The USA won three gold, France two and Spain and Italy one each if the two outstanding results maintain the existing positions.

First Gold for Briton went to Nic Asher and Elliot Willis in the 470 Men, beating the French pair Ben and Romain Bonnaud in the Medal race to leave them with the Silver. Gideon Kliger and Udi Gal (ISR) won the Bronze. Luke Patience and Chris Grube (GBR) finished ninth overall.

Briton's second Gold was won by Nick Dempsey on the RS:X board, already well ahead he won the medal race as well. Silver went to Nicolas Huguet of France with the Bronze to Ivan Pastor of Spain.
