Latest NZ news for the Hobie 16 class

by Stuart Scott on 15 Jan 2006
Now the H16 nationals in Gisborne are over and we have got over our craving for the Gisborne Gold we can start thinking about the sailing plans for 2006.

PERFORMANCE SERIES
The next event coming up is the first performance series day from Akarana on Saturday 21st Jan.

It is always interesting to attend this as we can see how we measure up against other classes of peformance yachts.

The sponsors are generous with their product.. Details and sailing instructions from the website.
See you there.

ANNIVERSARY DAY CITIZEN WATCHES HARBOUR BLAST MONDAY JAN 30TH At last something with some imagination, decent prizes and an exciting course.

This event now has a page to itself on the website. Go to http://www.hobiecat.org.nz/Blast/blast.html

The Sailing Instructions as well as the entry form can now be downloaded from the website page.
We would really like to see you there and entries are accepted on the day, at Royal Akarana clubhouse.
You will definately see us there.

GISBORNE NATIONALS REPORT
Lots of things to report on the Gisborne event.

NEW ZEALAND HOBIE CAT ASSOCIATION
Firstly, we elected new officers to the NZHCA committee. Their names and contact info are on the first page of the website. If you are really interested you can link off this page to a NZHCA info page that has the Constitution, minutes of the last AGM, a financial report and some other stuff about scrutineering. The national body appointed Garth as the first NZ Hobie Cat Association measurer.

EVENT REPORT.
Look on the 2006 Nationals page for an event report. You can see what too much Gisborne Gold does to you!
As well as my report (with piccy's) I have linked into it for download the full set of results, scrutineering report, and downloadable files of other reports written during the week. Lots of photos on the photo page.

If you took any photos during the week email a good one to me and I will put it on the site.

RULE UPDATE
There is an amendment to the 6:1 downhaul rule, available to download from the articles page.

FOR SALE AND WANTED PAGE
Fair bit of action here, most of the H16's for sale have been sold.
If you want to sell or buy a piece of Hobie Cat gear let me know and I will put it on this page.

Always looking for fleet news and pictures to put on the website.
