Minister for Tourism to sail with world champions at Sail Melbourne
The Hon. John Pandazopoulos, Minister for Tourism, State Government of Victoria, will open Sail Melbourne’s Olympic & Invited Classes event, starting at Sandringham Yacht Club in Victoria tomorrow, by taking a morning sail with five time Tornado world champion and Olympic medallist Darren Bundock (NSW) and his new Olympic crew and fellow world champion, Glenn Ashby, from Bendigo.
The Minister, who takes a hands-on approach to Sail Melbourne, will take a walk through Sandringham Yacht Club and the boat rigging areas from 10.00am, stopping to speak with the Olympic hopefuls entered into the event.
At around 10:45am, the Minister will depart for a speed ride off Sandringham on the Olympic class Tornado with Bundock and Ashby, returning to the club at 11.30am for a 12.00 departure.
