Sail Training
by Sail World on 6 Dec 2005
Australian sailing schools offer courses devised to cover all aspects of sailing. Courses are graded to the individual’s standard, and include boat handling, navigation and seamanship. They range from a very basic introduction to sailing right through to commercial qualifications for skippers and instructors.
However, when thinking of doing sail training, always check HERE to make sure your chosen school is accredited with Yachting Australia(YA), which accredits you for activities within Australia. Some sail training organisations now choose to be accredited with the Royal Yachting Association (RYA) in order to give international recognition of your qualification, and you can check HERE to see if your proposed training school is accredited with this organisation.
If you don’t know a school in your area which is accredited, you can also begin your search by checking on these two websites for your area
