Beginning in 1897, a young Dutch sail maker, Douwe Gaastra became known for the high quality of his fine cotton sails. In order to distinguish his products from imitators, he embroidered the outline of the castle-like gate over his hometown canals on all his work.
The Gaastra Castle soon became recognized as a mark of quality. The elegant simplicity in design, the finest materials, and the highest levels of craftsmanship guaranteed the company's survival through wars and depression.
Gaastra – is now the name most of you will associate with windsurfing and kite-boarding, but with its roots firmly planted in yachting, Gaastra now launches its nautical accessory range in Australia at the Pittwater Boat Show.
Our flagship product is the unique and versatile inflatable awning, which has two inflatable struts that replace those heavy and cumbersome battens in tradition boom tents. Being lightweight and compact it can be stowed in any small locker and will not weigh down the fanatical racers.
Available in sizes to suit boats from 20-50 ft, the Gaastra inflatable awning is ideal for both sun and rain protection.
See us at stand A5 Pittwater Boat Show 11-13th November Royal Motor Yacht Club (Broken Bay).
