Pittwater Boat Show – Next weekend

The Pittwater Boat Show is a spectacular new boating and marine industry event being staged at the Royal Motor Yacht Club in Newport NSW from 11 to 13 November 2005.)- next Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

The show combines sailing and power boating and will feature yachts and powerboats, accessories, clothing and marine equipment from a wide range of suppliers, manufacturers and importers from across Australia and overseas.

Opening Times and Parking: Open daily from 10.00 am the Pittwater Boat Show is expected to attract up to 15,000 visitors over three days. While parking is not available at the venue, access has been made as easy as possible with a convenient Park & Ride service operating from several points across the Northern Beaches. Buses will ferry visitors to and from the venue for free every 20 minutes during the event.

Signs and directions to parking sites will be visible along Pittwater Road and Barrenjoey Road, Newport. Further details about parking and opening and closing times can be found on the show website at www.pittwaterboatshow.com.au

Exhibitors: Exhibitors at the Pittwater Boat Show include the who’s who of sailing and yachting. The marina display has attracted big name brands such as Beneteau, Riviera, Bavaria Yachts, Seawind Catamarans, Salthouse, Maritimo, Sea Ray, Hunter Yachts and Larson Boats to name but a few.

Well-known dealers and manufacturers include Andrew Short Marine, Game and Leisure Boats, Angel Bay Marine and Squadron Boat Sales.

In the pavilion and in the open air space, electronic products, engineering equipment, accessories, clothing, holidays, engines and trailer boats will complete the line up. Racing Line will display the latest in clothing and accessories, while GME will feature satellite navigation and communications equipment at their state-of-the-art stand. Australian Boating College will give an overview of what is involved in obtaining a boat license and those keen to crew can find information from the Club Sail Super Yacht Crew Academy.

What’s-On: Besides extensive marine and boating displays, highlights of the show include entertainment and demonstrations from exhibitors such as Volvo cars, Nokia, Sunsail and Mix 106.5 FM.

Mix 106.5 FM will hold a live broadcast from the show on Saturday 12 November from 11.00 am to 3.00 pm, with fun and entertainment for the whole family, including face painting, prizes, a BBQ and giveaways.

Nokia will demonstrate their new digital camera phones, taking pictures of members of the public and allowing them to collect their photos later at the Nokia stand. Sunsail will be giving away an exciting sailing holiday to the Whitsundays in a competition open to all visitors and Volvo will put its new XC 70 through its paces on the boat ramp. Volvo also plans to live-stream the start of the 2005/06 Volvo Ocean Race on a big screen at the show.

Food and Beverages: There will be food and drinks aplenty to suit all tastes and all budgets. Club facilities include full dining facilities, café-style meals, and BBQ’s, kiosks and bar facilities.

Setting new standards in boating and marine events, the Pittwater Boat Show is being staged in association and with the support of the Royal Motor Yacht Club, Broken Bay. The event organiser is Liquidity Sports Pty Limited, a Manly-based sports marketing company with extensive experience in yacht sponsorships, regattas, marketing and team management.
