Sailed in front of a grandstand in 55 foot Formula 1 style yachts, with eight crew and open only to America’s Cup teams, the 6th edition of La Sfida Match Racing spectacular in Trieste, Italy, will be back from 3-11 September.

With racing starting Tuesday (today) local time, the event has an impressive hall of fame; 2000 edition - Russell Coutts, 2001 - Paul Cayard, 2002 - Dean Barker, 2003 and 2004 - James Spithill.

Spithill is looking for his third consecutive title, but has a strong line-up to contend with, including a second team from Luna Rossa with some of his Aussie crewmates from the Young Australia America's Cup Challenger in 1999.

Teams entered this year include Alinghi-Peter Holmberg, Luna Rossa1-James Spithill, Luna Rossa2-Francesco de Angelis, Shosholoza-Chris Law, Mascalzone Latino Capitalia-Jes Gram Hansen and +39 Challenge - Iain Percy and SKY Sport TV will cover the event.
