Launch of Clipper Hospitality

by Loretta Spridgeon on 7 Apr 2005
Sir Robin Knox-Johnston, Chairman of the AIM-quoted marine events company Clipper Ventures PLC, is proud to announce the official launch of Clipper Hospitality - the newly formed sailing division of Cavendish Hospitality.

Sir Robin Knox-Johnston, the first man to sail solo non-stop around the world, said: ‘This is a significant step for Clipper Ventures and an enhancement of our ethos that sailing should not exclusively be the reserve of professional yachtsmen. We look forward to working with Cavendish Hospitality as we bring the sailing experience to new markets.’

Dr Chris Bruton, CEO of Clipper Hospitality, added: ‘We are delighted to have been appointed for this prestigious contract as it presents a wonderful opportunity for corporate clients to entertain at one of the world’s most exciting sporting spectacles. We look forward to working with Clipper Ventures in delivering top quality hospitality facilities around the world.’

As the official hospitality provider for the Clipper 05-06 Round the World Yacht Race, Clipper Hospitality will offer for the first time unique UK and global hospitality opportunities for corporate companies, during one of the world’s most challenging and exciting ocean races.

In the UK, corporate clients can combine the excitement of Scandia Cowes Week; (1-5 August 2005), with sailing one of Clipper Ventures’ brand new 68ft Dubois-designed racing yachts.

The yachts will start in the newly developed Royal Clarence Marina, Gosport, and guests may spend a thrilling day learning about sailing, becoming involved or simply enjoying the hospitality experience.

The fifth Clipper 05-06 Round the World Yacht race starts from Liverpool on Sunday 18th September 2005 and returns in the summer of 2006 to the city’s award winning Albert Dock.

Liverpool will provide an extensive race village, entertainment and corporate hospitality for both the race start and its grand homecoming. Clipper Hospitality will provide high quality shore-based hospitality packages in Liverpool for the 17th and departure day on the 18th September 2005.

Global hospitality opportunities also exist at worldwide stopover ports, allowing local and international companies to entertain their staff and clients at this prestigious event.

During the stopovers, Clipper Hospitality is offering businesses around the world the opportunity to sail these exciting Dubois 68' yachts. These sailing events provide the perfect opportunity to entertain top clients and colleagues or implement a leadership, team-building programme.
