Last year's successful Show Club Marine http://www.clubmarine.com.au/
The 2005 Club Marine Sail Boat Show is one of the biggest events on the sailing calendar staged at Victoria’s largest marina on March 19th-20th.

The two-day bumper showcase features more than just the very best in sailing hardware and accessories. Lots of entertaining activities and opportunities to go sailing are on offer so if you have a love of the sea and wind in your sails, then don’t miss this show.

Come Try Sailing

Present at the show will be the Sandringham Yacht Club Boating Academy offering all show visitors the opportunity to go sailing. The Academy dinghy’s include 12 Pacers & Optimists & a brand new fleet of six 7.5m Beneteau Keelboats. To try sailing in a dinghy visit the Off the Beach section of the show (Saturday & Sunday 11am-1pm & 3pm-5pm) and speak with one of the Academy coaches or call the Academy on (03) 9598 7444 before the event.

Go Sailing in an Access Dinghy

On Sunday Go Sailing in an Access Dinghy. A much loved regular feature of the Sail Boat Show, jump in an access dinghy with one of your kids (or parents) and sail around our marina pond. Hop onboard by visiting the marina pond finger closest to the off the beach area.

Win a Whitsunday Holiday with Sunsail

By attending the Sail Boat Show at Sandringham Yacht Club you have the chance to win a 5-night Bareboat (self sail) Charter Holiday with Sunsail from either the Whitsunday’s or Sydney Harbour aboard a three cabin Jeanneau or Beneteau yacht.

These yachts are superbly appointed and can accommodate up to three couples in three double cabins. The value of the prize is in excess of $3,000. When you arrive at the show make sure you get an entry form upon entry and you visit the Sunsail Booth (Booth 2 in Boat Show Alley)

The Volvo Penta Dinghy Regatta
Eastern Engine Pty Ltd is the authorised importer/distributor for Volvo Penta for the Australasian region and again we are delighted they are sponsoring the Volvo Penta Dinghy Regatta. Jesse’ has set up a Papua New Guinea based charter business and he will be present to tell us more about this as well as making his regular personal appearances to present the winners of the Volvo Penta Pacer Regatta with their silver ware.

Sail Board Headquarters

Being the first Aussie shop to passionately embrace both windsurfing (1979) & kitesurfing (1999), it is no surprise that Sail Board Headquarters are deeply involved with both sports.

Whether your interest is in professional lessons, rentals, demos, gear repairs, weekend getaways, overseas adventure holidays, wind reports, running events, clinics… you name it, Sail Board Headquarters do it! SHQ are situated on the lawn area outside the Ken King Centre so be sure to pop in for a chat.

Osaka Cup

The 2007 Osaka Cup will be officially launched in March 2005 and interested entrants can visit the Osaka stand in the Sandringham Yacht Club on-water display.

The Melbourne/Osaka Double Handed Yacht Race, first held in 1987 to commemorate the 120th anniversary of the opening of the Port of Osaka, is held every four years.

The 6th Osaka Cup will be held in 2007 with race participants sailing from Melbourne to Osaka spanning 5,500 nautical miles (approx. 10,200 km) without stop-overs, travelling backward through the seasons with autumn in Melbourne, summer at the equator, and spring in Osaka.

The race will be formally announced in March 2005 by both the City of Osaka and City of Melbourne and the preliminary notice of race will be available at the show.

Nautical Fashion Shows

Don’t miss the daily nautical fashion shows at 1.30pm and 3.30pm in the Sandringham Yacht Club on water marquee. Wet weather gear, children’s sailing gear, recreational boating & swimwear will all be a feature of the show!

Entertainment for the Whole Family

Live music and kids amusements including face painting will also be a daily feature of the show. Model yachts racing around the marina pond are also a family favourite. Refreshments are available right throughout the show in the fully licensed Ken King Centre.

SYC On-Water Display

The Sandringham Yacht Club on-water display is a 300sq meter on-water barge housing an information suite display for their Facilities Master plan project including designs for the new AUD$12 million clubhouse.
