Windsurf Grand Slam – National Slalom Championships at Circolo Surf Torbole Elena Giolai
Everything is ready at Circolo Surf Torbole to continue the Windsurf Grand Slam, which includes the assignment of three national titles.

The event, under the aegis of AICW (the Italian Association of Windsurfing Classes) and FIV, from Thursday 12 to Sunday 15 will award the Slalom National Title.

The best athletes will compete in “downwind” races with a direct elimination board system. While Formula Windsurfing and Raceboard National Championships were competing (with the winners Frank and Treggiari, respectively), some “big riders” started training on the waters of Garda Trentino.

During these two Grand Slam titles, the weather and wind conditions was exceptional and we hope that the high pressure on our country will give us sunny and windy days: a minimum of 11 knots is needed for slalom. This edition will also finally award the female title thanks to the number of female athletes participating this year: we will see racing the two Italian RS:X Olympic class athletes, Flavia Tartaglini and Marta Maggetti.

It will be a great competitive challenge, also for the bearer of Circolo Surf Torbole, Bruno Martini, who will have to defend his title among young racers wishing to highlights themselves.

The competition will be organized between Circolo Surf Torbole, Conca d’Oro and Circolo Vela Torbole, thanks to an agreement between the two clubs: this will allow to athletes a second base to reach the racing course.

During the weekend, also the special participation of the current PWA World Champion: Matteo Iachino. Carlo Cottafavi, the President of AICW sayd: “Iachino will be at Circolo Surf Torbole to award the Juniores athletes who finished their National Slalom Championship after the three stages in Cagliari, Torbole and Crotone. This will be an exceptional presence: with Iachino who is now focusing himself to defend his title on the World Cup last stage in New Caledonia.”

Among other special events scheduled at Circolo Surf Torbole, the President of the Club Armando Bronzetti announced: “on Saturday, at 5.30 p.m., the RRD athlete Andrea Rosati will officially launch the new RRD X-Fire V10 Slalom Board. During this exciting 4 days of sport, competition and lifestyle, this event will attract the attention of windsurfing aficionados who have fun on the Garda windy waters and who find in our Club a special reference point for all the activities in the world of windsurf.'

On Thursday, first possible start at 12:00.

Pivot on this
I despise the way ‘pivot' got used as many times as those wretched QR codes... Yes indeed. As much as I would hate to take people back to the COVID era, that's exactly what I've just done. Making that problematic trip back in time look good, is how much I despise the way ‘pivot' got used as many times as those wretched QR codes.
