Jeanneau 51 to Première at Sydney International Boat Show

by Jeanneau Australia on 14 Jul 2017
Two-sailing and clipping along nicely. - Jeanneau 51 Jeanneau France
The new Jeanneau 51, the latest addition to the Jeanneau Yachts range, is the luxurious result of a teaming of renowned naval architect Philippe Briand and superyacht designer Andrew Winch. Following the successful launch of the Jeanneau 54 at the 2016 show, the first of the 51 models will be on display for the first time in Australia when the Sydney International Boat Show celebrates its 50th anniversary.

This is the first of three 51s heading to Sydney alone, after customers were taken by the concept of the model, and reputation of the brand. The exterior layout of the 51 focuses on comfort and ease of use whilst you are actively sailing or relaxing at anchor. The generous cockpit offers multiple zones for your lounging, dining and sailing.

This new yacht also benefits from extra thought from the design team, such as retractable davits to simplify the launch of a large tender without taking up interior space, and most notably, which disappear when not in use. The Jeanneau 51 is offered with a choice of several interior layouts and ambiances, as well as a wide selection of fabrics, contemporary woods (teak and natural oak), high quality leathers, and the latest equipment. It is also, of course, an absolute pleasure to sail. There is a range of sail plans presented to suit your tastes, including inmast furling mainsail, self-tacking jib, a staysail and a code zero.

The Jeanneau 51 that will be on display at the Sydney Show was recently commissioned at White Bay 6 Marine Park before being sailed single-handed ‘out of the box’ to Pittwater by Lee Condell, from the local dealer Performance Boating Sails, who commented, “For a yacht that is ostensible a large cruising yacht, I was blown away by how easily driven it is. Nice and balanced, it will do what is asked by its crew without a concern.”

Jeanneau Yachts are represented in every state of Australia by members of the Australian Marine Network. Please see Jeanneau Australia for more information
