Plastimo to distribute Navman NZ in Europe
by IBI Magazine on 6 Oct 2004
Marine electronics manufacturer Navman NZ has announced that Plastimo of France has been made an official distributor of its GPS and marine products in Europe.
The new agreement will allow Navman to develop its distribution channels on the continent, with representation in countries such as Finland, Norway and Croatia.
‘Navman has enjoyed a successful and historical relationship with Plastimo over the past decade,’ says Navman vice-president Marc Michel.
‘This new distribution agreement will allow Plastimo to focus its considerable resources in both the retail and OEM channels on developing its initiatives to deliver an even higher standard of products and service to Navman customers in the core European markets, whilst allowing for new partnerships in countries where it makes sense.’
Based in Lorient in France, Plastimo manufactures a wide range of boating equipment including compasses, mooring devices and a number of safety-related products. It is part of the Navimo Group, a French manufacturer and distributor of the Goiot, Max Power, Nuova Rade, XM Yachting and Accastillage Bernard brands.
Navman, which was purchased by Brunswick New Technologies earlier this year, is also opening a UK office in Southampton that will give support to both Plastimo and Brunswick's European marine businesses, where Navman is integrating its 2005 products on the Quicksilver, Arvor, Bella, Askeladden and Uttern brands.
