by Elena Giolai on 29 Oct 2016
Final day - Techno 293 World Championship Andrea Mochen
Historical record for Giorgia Speciale winner Techno 293 World title in under 17 Division, after won four medals in the previous Worlds.

After the eleventh race two Italian competitors won gold and silver medals, confirming the leadership of Italian women windsurfing in a really wonderful Championship raced in Garda Trentino with different weather and wind conditions, in some days very hard.

Italian women windsurfing history has made a new important step, honoring Olympic Champion Alessandra Sensini, nowadays Technical Advisor for young people windsurfing for Italian Sailing Federation.

Final day of Techno 293 World Championship raced at Circolo Surf Torbole. on Garda Trentino, that made great results for Italian windsurfing in this class that in 2018 will be part of Yog Olympics in Buenos Aires. As it happened last year in Cagliari, in 2016 two Italian competitors on the podium, when one race missed too in a format of 12 races.

So Giorgia Speciale enters in the hall of fame of young people windsurfing, first competitor ever winning medals in all five editions of T293 Worlds she took part. She won three gold and two silver medals under 15 and under 17 divisions, a palmarès never got by anybody. Giorgia lives in Ancona and races for historical sailing club SEF Stamura, coached by Roberto Pierani. Very excellent result for Enrica Schirru from Windsurfing Club Cagliari too. Enrica, trained by Mauro Covre, after the bronze medal at her homespot in 2015, now won the silver medal.
