Skies clear for final day of the Auckland On the Water Boat Show

by Richard Gladwell on 1 Oct 2016
RG 021016 - AOWBS 034 (1) - Auckland On The Water Boat Show - Day 4 - October 3, 2016 - Viaduct Events Centre - Sailing....Have a Go Richard Gladwell www.photosport.co.nz
The heavy rain which hit the Auckland On the Water Boat Show and the rest of the province has cleared and it is business as usual for the final day.

The crowds were at the Viaduct Events Centre gat at 10.00am this morning - a little surprising given the heavy rain which has plagued Auckland over night and at Show opening time, plus the All Blacks Test match which started at 11.00am.

However by 11.00am it all cleared away, and the Show is now in full flight.

With the All Blacks match due to conclude soon after lunch - what is left of Sunday is an ideal opportunity to catch the latest and greatest in the New Zealand Marine industry.

There's plenty there for the kids to see - those under 15 years are admitted free. There's plenty of food available.

If the rain does return just fall back and take in the exhibits under cover - there are three outside pavilions plus three floors in the Event Centre Itself. But to be safe - bring an umbrella.

Outside there are three marina areas, the Sealegs base, and HMNZS Hawea open for kids of all ages to look through - and have supervised play with much of the vessel's guns, armaments, fire hoses and other gear. You'll never get another chance like this!

The Auckland On the Water Boat Show finishes Sunday – at Auckland’s Viaduct Harbour. Tickets can be purchased at www.iticket.co.nz

In keeping with the spirit of the school holidays, visitors under 15 years old are free.

On Sunday the Show closes at 5.00pm
