Canada's Paul Tingley may be at Rio 2016 in the Sonar class, but he won his gold medal in the 2.4mR at Beijing 2008.
On the waters of Qingdao, Tingley edged out the defending Paralympic champion, France's Damien Seguin, to claim the gold medal in the One Person Keelboat.
Speaking of winning gold, Tingley said, 'Winning the gold medal was an out of body experience. I was in shock.'
At Sydney 2000 Tingley won a bronze medal in the Sonar class. He also competed at Athens 2004 in the Three Person Keelboat before his solo 2008 triumph. London 2012 saw Tingley finish outside the medals in fifth and he returns to the Sonar with Logan Campbell and Scott Lutes for Rio 2016.
