Seawind Catamarans celebrates a record week at the Sydney Boat Show

Sydney Boat Show Seawind Catamarans
Another new boat was sold just prior to the show – a Seawind 1600 (52ft, and the flagship of the fleet). It means that five boats were sold into Australia in the month of the show, making this the most successful period for the builder since the start of the global financial crisis.

The star performer this month was the new Seawind 1260, of which two were sold at Sydney. “These recent successes are down to significant investment in new models” said Sales Manager Shane Grover. “We needed to hold to our mission to deliver serious bluewater cruising yachts, but also to revamp our offering. The new 1260 offers safety and comfort at sea, while still being a fantastic fit with the own-to-charter market. And post-GFC, it’s important to offer a boat that performs at sea and performs financially! Many of the new 1260’s are entering the charter market for at least a few months per year, and working with owners to facilitate financially sound business models is important to us.”

The new Seawind 1600 meets a different demand: Bluewater cruising range, with superyacht comfort. Three Seawind 1600’s have now been sold in total, meaning momentum is gathering behind this design from world renowned naval architects Reichel Pugh.

The next delivery slot for boat number four is now December 2017. This yacht is built using high-end composite PVC sandwich construction to Reichel Pugh specifications, with extensive use of carbon and Kevlar Aramid reinforcements. This blue water cruising catamaran sets the bar for offshore sailing.
