In 2012 Tidetech provided a tidal model for the Australian Olympic team who had huge success, claiming the dual honours of top sailing team and top Australian Olympic sport.

This time round Tidetech has produced a model for Guanabara Bay for the Rio Olympics, available to all teams and now being used by many of the top contenders.

Armchair sailors watching the TV and online footage can now access the tidal data online free of charge in Tidemap.

We hope you enjoy using the information to help you get a handle on the racing (we also sent it to the BBC who are using it in the commentary).

Tidemap will continue to be freely available until the end of the Games.
