Leg two to Warnemünde just kicks off - 2016 Nord Stream Race Hannu Bask
After a short pit stop in Helsinki, which included a press conference, a BBQ, several visits to the sauna and shower as well as some very precious minutes of badly needed sleep, the participants have started leg two of Nord Stream Invitational Race 2016.

At 18:45 local time Bronenosec, Tsaar Peter and Spirit of Europe crossed the start line just off the Helsingfors Segelklubb in Helsinki. A little behind followed SGM and Petite Flamme. All boats beautifully displayed their kites as they majestically floated out into the open sea.

They are now facing 560 nautical miles of open Baltic Sea that they have to master. It will be fascinating to see what different tactics the boat’s navigators are going to implement. Will they keep close to each other or try and move away from the fleet in order to find the perfect breeze that will bring them all the way to Warnemünde?
