Volvo Ocean Race Champion steps aboard at Hall Spars & Rigging NZ

by Annaleis Shearer on 10 May 2016 Volvo Ocean Race winner, Brad Marsh has joined the team at Hall Spars & Rigging NZ.

He was a bowman aboard 2011-12 Volvo Ocean race winner, Groupama (FRA). Marsh is also a professional rigger by trade.

Marsh brings a wealth of experience from campaigns including the Volvo Ocean Race and TP52 Super Series to his new role heading the Hollow Composite Battens (HCB) Programme and Custom Projects at the Hall Spars & Rigging New Zealand workshop.

“The main attraction of working at Hall Spars & Rigging NZ is the great team of people currently working there,” says Marsh. “I’m excited to be a part of it and look forward to using my experience and knowledge to contribute to and develop the brand.”

His new role will include driving the specialized development of Hall Spars battens and end fittings whilst streamlining the ordering and sales process.

Hall Spars & Rigging NZ design manager Matthew Stuart says having such an “accomplished technical yachtsman” on the team will take their products to another level.

“Brad’s professionalism and commitment will soon show in the further development of the batten range,” he says.

The benchmark set for delivering quality service across all Hall Spars & Rigging NZ products will remain at the highest standard for the HCB Programme and Custom Projects.

“Our ability to control the quality and manufacturing process gives us the assurance of a premium quality product every time,” he says.

As the brand develops Marsh says they plan to standardize the range to suit market demands.
