2016 RS Feva European Championships – Action coming soon…

2016 RS Feva European Championships – Lake Lipno in the Czech Republic will in two weeks’ time witness the descent of 75 boats from 11 countries to vie for the 2016 European title. It will be quite an extraordinary festival with quite the most enthusiastic and genial hosts. The first continental championships of the year are set to be out of the ordinary!

The British will have a small but very competent contingent led by the reigning champions – Jack Lewis and Lucas Marshall. They will have a fight on their hands though to be successful in their defence, for not only are the other UK boats pretty handy but the Czechs have been close recently and have only got better.

The top Dutch boats are going arrive straight out of a very successful ‘pre-season’ so watch out for them too. Arguably their top two boats are all girl teams and so are two of the UK boats. Would it surprise us to see the girls rule the roost this year? Not at all.

As for the ever competitive Italians and Estonians? Yup, they are back again too. Truly this is shaping up nicely. Whilst we can’t name check everyone here we can take note of the sponsors lined up and the entertainments being offered on top of the sailing. It seems that adults will be as well catered for as the youngsters. Roll on! Racing will take place on Fri to Mon 13-16 May. Keep tooned as the cartoons would have it!
