Henri Lloyd 'Freedom Jacket' just released - the new coastal jacket

by Henri Lloyd on 14 Apr 2016
Freedom Jkt Wet Hl Marine Henri Lloyd
Freedom by name, freedom by nature; the new coastal jacket from Henri Lloyd gives you the freedom to sail wherever and whenever you want, no matter what the environment throws at you.

Designed on the back of Henri Lloyd’s 50 plus years in sailing innovation the Freedom range has been created with the sailor in mind to offer serious coastal protection. We speak to the design team at Henri Lloyd to get the facts and features that make this jacket the best in class.

The real talking point of the Freedom jacket has to be the Optivision hood and face visor. This technology is taken straight out of Henri Lloyd’s Transocean collection and is the only coastal jacket to offer this technology for full facial protection and improved peripheral vision. This is technology that could save your life – imagine your hood up during bad weather – having the peripheral vision of the Optivision is crucial when you need to be alert and aware of your surroundings.

Being seen by night is also crucial to safety when at sea. Henri Lloyd’s innovative Photo-luminescent reflectors feature on the shoulders, storm flap and hood of the Freedom. These reflectors represent cutting edge technology in energy-zero and self-sustaining light sources; by day they absorb UV light (sunlight or artificial) and by day night this energy is released, creating a luminescence improving visibility on those night time excursions.

The Freedom collection is constructed in the brands high performance TP2 fabric – TP2 is a coated fabric technology which is twenty times more waterproof than the British standard – this paired with our seam taping technology means we guarantee that the Freedom range is 100% waterproof and wind proof whilst remaining highly breathable. Double, Dartex staggered and adjustable cuffs at the sleeve, along with run off channels at the pockets and zip ensure that spray doesn’t makes its way through the zip holes or down your sleeves when adjusting the sails. Layer it up with the Henri Loyd Elite Therm mid layer to get maximum breathability and comfort out on the water.

Constructed from the same high performance material as the Freedom jacket, the Freedom Hi-fit trouser compliments the jacket perfectly. The two way storm flap and drainage channels keep you dry when the weather is harsh, it’s ergonomic design features bat wing waist adjusters and is articulated for ease of movement – crucial to gain that tactical advantage when racing or just as important when cruising. A quick access fast draining leg pocket ensures anything you need is just within reach.

The Freedom Jacket and Hi-Fits are available in both men’s and women’s fits from Henri Lloyd’s signature stores in Crows Nest, Sydney and in Hampton, Victoria. Also available at many excellent independent marine stockists across Australia. You can find out more information on website.
