2016 GP14 World Championship - Day 1 action

by Michelle Evans on 30 Mar 2016
2016 GP14 World Championship - Day 1 Peter Marshall
2016 GP14 World Championship - 86 boats out of the registered 105 took to the water for the first day of the 2016 GP14 World Championships. With a sailing area that allowed for good views from the yacht club, and 28 degrees in the shade of the spinnaker, it was a day of champagne sailing and sunburn.

Matt Burge and Paul Childs from Poole YC built a commanding lead by the end of the first lap with the current World Champions coming in second.

It’s going to be a close week for the experienced gold fleet with Nick Craig and Toby Lewis currently fifth. Find out more in our daily video round up.
