It was a week of intense activity in Puerto Vallarta, boats from different places of the United States and Mexico gathered in 'El Paraiso de la Vela” to live this unforgettable experience.

For people unfamiliar with this wonderful sport, it seems a routine: wake up, eat breakfast, get ready for the start area and compete in the same place with the same sailors for six days. However, conditions can change drastically every day and make every day a totally different experience.

The last two days the sailors lived the moments with passion and tension of sailing, because the positions changed many times all day long. They could win or loose in a moment. The wind of Puerto Vallarta was blowing between 12-25 knots, confirming that Mexico has some of the best places for sailing worldwide. The last day of the Class A was the most exciting, positions are fought until the last moment of the championship.

Friday and Saturday, The Mexican Sailing Federation (FMV), was honored to receive as a guest the former President of Mexico and faithful promoter of sailing, Felipe Calderon who sailed on the boat 'Gladiator' of Ing. Giovanni Aloi.

At the closing event attended by Agustin Alvarez Valdivia, Director of the Tourism Board of Puerto Vallarta, Giovanni Aloi Timeus, President of the Mexican Sailing Federation, Ernesto Amtmann, President of the Mexican Association of Ocean Sailing and Juan de Pablos, Manager Club Yates Acapulco.

It was a cocktail with mexican atmosphere live music where national and foreign sailors were introduced to the flavors of Mexico. The awards was an act of emotion for each of the participating boats, even for those who didn't get a trophy, the atmosphere was always of fellowship and joy among the nearly 300 participants sailors.

MEXORC 2016, part of the first edition of FMV CUP, ended with great success and recognition not only of foreign sailors, also by official sponsors and main promoters of sport in our country: Unifin, finance company for the first once you join the candle. Government of Jalisco, which through its various entities such as the Ministry of Tourism, has supported this cup to transcend the sport of our country worldwide. CONADE, which has always supported the FMV in each national and international event to grow this sport in our shorelines.
