Konica Minolta clicks
by Al Constable on 31 Jul 2004
Ten minutes out the Heads, the big Doyle D4 Code One snapped into place and the Kiwi giant Konica Minolta accelerated northwards.
She is now sailing about half a knot faster than Skandia and closing fast. Within a few minutes she may well hit the front.
Skandia still leads the 2004 Ingles Sydney to Gold Coast race ahead of AAPT, with Konica Minolta accelerating inside the rhumbline, along with Serious Ten, flying with her Code zero, then Sting, Ichi Ban, XLR8, Merlin and Broomstick.
Quest is ahead of Pretty Woman with Yeah Baby first of the Sydney 38’s just inside NRMA Insurance.
Sail-world will be covering the race in detail with news, interviews and mid-race skeds.
The first radio sked is at 1805 this evening. Sail-world will have full sked report around 1900.
