Over 60 business owners and managers stepped away from their projects last Friday afternoon, February 5th, to take part in a seminar and networking event organised by AIMEX and held at the Rivergate refit yard in Brisbane.
Australian International Marine Export Group (AIMEX) organised a complimentary seminar on developing capability statements for a business followed by a networking barbecue. Members from within the marine export, commercial and superyacht sector attended the seminar to hone their capability statement writing skills designed to help market their business and ensure a better chance of participating in industry supply chains. Working with AIMEX, AusIndustry presented a very well-received two hour practical training session that was given a huge tick by those in attendance.
The seminar was followed by the tour of Rivergate’s facilities and the networking event.
Rivergate’s Steve Fisher hosted the tour for the key marine industry stakeholders in attendance. Guests came from Brisbane, the Sunshine Coast and the Gold Coast to attend.
To show the importance of these events as part of the strategic direction of AIMEX, the AIMEX Board members travelled from three states of Australia to attend their board meeting earlier in the day at the Rivergate board room and joined in attending the seminar, the site tour and the networking function.
AIMEX CEO MaryAnne Edwards said “This is the first of these events for 2016 which we will be holding across Australia. It is important to bring all sectors of the marine industry together to network and nut our industry issues together in an informal atmosphere”.
Superyacht Qld Cluster lead Byron Rabone said “The industry needs this type of event on our own doorstep to maintain communication and connectivity, and to build on the relationships that we form at trade shows and on overseas visits”.
With the motivation from great presenters, a chance to interact with key industry leaders, and a friendly setting enjoyed on the banks of the Brisbane River, the marine industry looks forward to enjoying more of these events from AIMEX.
