Islands in the Stream Series Standings

Steven Murray’s Carkeek 40 Decision and Anson Mulder’s Oyster 575 24 Heures hold a two-point edge atop the standings with one race remaining in the Inaugural Islands in the Stream Series, organized by SORC. Decision swept the top of the standings for both the Nassau Cup Ocean Race and the Wirth M. Munroe Palm Beach Race, and throws out a fourth in the Fort Lauderdale to Key West Race. 24 Heures did not finish the Nassau Race, but has been unstoppable since, winning the Wirth M. Munroe Memorial Palm Beach Race and the Fort Lauderdale to Key West Race. 24 Heures is not yet entered in the final race of the series, the Inaugural Miami to Havana Race.

Hot Ticket, Carinthia, Thin Ice and Senara are all four points back, poised to pull the rug out from under Decision in the Havana Race, to snatch the series win.

Fourteen contenders completed the two races necessary to remain qualified for the Inaugural SORC Islands in the Stream Series, with a total of eight points separating the top from the bottom. With four points separating the top eight boats, it really is anybody’s series to win as we head into the fourth and final race of the series, the Inaugural Miami to Havana Race. The entry deadline for the Havana Race is still a day away. For those of you on this list but not yet on the entry list for Havana, you have already demonstrated the ability to move fast. Hustle up, or miss the fiesta.
