2015 WWA Wake Park World Series – Island vibes set the tone for Day 1

2015 WWA Wake Park World Series – Riders from every portion of the world get together for a year end bash at International Wake Park located on the beautiful island of Phuket Thailand.

Great people, amazing food, an incredible wakepark and a tropical setting make this final event a rider’s paradise. The 2015 WWA Wake Park World Series wraps up this weekend at none other then one of the world’s best parks, International Wake Park. This weekend will crown the 2015 overall series winner in both professional men’s traditional cable and professional men’s features. All year long rider’s have been traveling the globe competing for the overall wake park world series title and there is no better place to cap it all off at.

Today amateurs of all ages and skill levels threw it down on the marvelous course setup that International Wake Park provides riders. The array of features and unbelievable cable pop accommodates different ability’s and aspects to park riding, while it gave the crowd a show to see today. The day also delivered a sneak peak of what there is to see come tomorrow when the pros take the water. Men and women, boys and girls, wakeskaters and traditional cable riding all occurred with such a tall level of riding.

Dmytro Massalov of the Ukraine was one of many riders that really shined today. Massalov is the 2015 WWA world championships master’s mens runner up and he scored a perfect 100 in his heat today. He is looking as strong as anyone going into finals on Sunday.

“Conditions couldn’t of been any better for me out there today. I knew that once I landed my heelside 720 at the end of my run today in semi’s, I was going to have a high score!” said Dmytro.

There were heaps of riders from Asia riding in this event with of course a strong showing of Thai participants also. The open wakeskate division, Chalermrat Wattanarungsun won his heat with a great mixture of kicker hits, skate tricks and rails as he made the Thai’s proud. Him along with J Nattapong both advanced to the finals and are making sure the Thai presence is known.

That concludes day one at the final event of the most respected series of park events in the world. The 2015 WWA Wake Park World Series is one day closer to closing out the season with the best year yet in the events 10 year history. Come out to International Wake Park tomorrow and make sure to bring your boardies, your towel and snag an ice cold beverage here as it only continues to get better!
