Voici le bénévole du mois Automobiles Volvo de septembre 2015

Dan n'est pas un bénévole ordinaire...il donne l'exemple. Il a joué un rôle déterminant dans la sensibilisation des membres et de la communauté lorsque le club de voile Bay of Quinte a décidé de mettre sur pied une flotte de dinghies. Dan a réuni des commanditaires et amassé des dons en appui à l'équipe de course du club qui ont dépassé de loin tout soutien antérieur que le club ait reçu.

Ce soutien a permis au club d'acheter une flotte de dinghies Optimist et Laser. Et ce n'est pas tout... Dan a aussi construit une remorque pour transporter les embarcations aux événements, ce qui a permis aux jeunes de se rendre dans les différentes courses tout au long de l'été.

Les membres du club de voile Bay of Quinte disent que l'enthousiasme de Dan est contagieux. Toutes les personnes à qui il parle souhaitent devenir bénévoles, même celles qui n'ont jamais monté à bord d'un bateau!

• Fabricant de bateaux et de remorque

Le club de voile Bay of Quinte est un membre d'Ontario Sailing et de Voile Canada. L'école du club de voile est un centre d'entraînement reconnu de VoileCAN, pour les programmes de dinghy et de dériveur de VoileCAN offerts par des instructeurs certifiés. Le club de voile Bay of Quinte présente des courses hebdomadaires de dinghies et de dériveurs comprenant des épreuves de semaine et des courses de fin de semaine pour le PHRF, One Design et les flottes de femmes seulement, tout au long de la saison.
