The Malibu Evolution Pro Series made its second stop of the season at Tokyo Bay for the Malibu Boats Tokyo Pro presented by Rockstar Energy. The top wakeboarders in the world spent the weekend in Japan competing behind the Malibu Wakesetter 22 MXZ.

“Malibu, the WWA and the JWBA partnered together to bring an outstanding event to Japan,” said Malibu CEO Jack Springer. “Malibu has strived to create a unique, special series and this second leg demonstrated that yet again. Not only was the venue spectacular and the riding great, the welcome and support from the Japanese people was exciting to see. Congratulations to those who placed on the podium, but congratulations also to everyone who was a part of this very special Malibu Evolution Tour stop.”

The world’s best wakeboarders were on the water for the sixth stop of the WWA Wakeboard World Series. Dean Smith had an incredible weekend as he stomped all of his runs to take home his first title of the year. In the Pro Women’s division it was Dallas Friday who took control of the contest and the series with her performance.

“The Malibu Evolution Pro Series is unique because it allows the pro riders to travel to and ride at exquisite places,” said Malibu Team rider Friday. “It is great to meet fans from around the world. I am so pumped to be currently leading the series and can't wait to wrap it up in Houston for the final stop!”

The event was a huge success as the WBWS returned to Japan as fans lined the shore cheering on the world’s best.

'The Malibu Tokyo Pro helped display the unshakable power of Malibu in Japan,” said Dealer Tada Abe from Tasker Marine in Japan. “The contest showed high level riding by riders from all over the world and we saw great performances from our own Japanese riders as well.'
