H2O kids camps with Tom Burton

Laser World number one, Tom Burton will be coaching at the first of two kids race training camps this September school holidays at the H2O Sports Academy Australia on beautiful Lake Macquarie.

The star studded coaching team also includes Ryan Palk who recently finished 11th at the Laser World Championship, Haylee Outteridge who is a member of the Australian Sailing Team racing the 49erFX and Olympians, Lanee Beashel, Karyn Gojnich and Laura Baldwin.

Catering for kids aged seven to 17 years from the Green Fleet Optimists (new to racing) to top level racing level sailors in Optimists, Lasers, Sabots and 29ers.

H2O is based within the NSW Sport and Recreation Centre at Point Wolstoncroft and is able to incorporate the fantastic facilities into their programs. The H2O coaches stay onsite with the kids during the residential camp and entertain them throughout the waking hours with the days being mostly filled with sail training plus a mix of other optional activities including; swimming, paddling, tennis, beach volleyball, putt putt golf, bocce ball, fishing off the wharf, ball sports, arts and crafts, giant board games, fun games and playing in the well equipped playground. The evening entertainment includes a camp fire, fun games and movie night.

H2O is an accredited Discover Sailing Centre and will be awarding the appropriate level of Yachting Australia Dinghy Sailing Course certificates as well as an H2O T-shirt. A fun try a boat session will give kids the opportunity to try other classes with Haylee Outteridge running 29er demos, Lanee Beashel teaching windsurfing basics, Tom Burton taking kids out on his Laser, 420 demos with former NSW Youth Team sailor as well as Byte and Hobie sailing.

The camps are fully catered with healthy meals served throughout the day at breakfast, morning tea, lunch, afternoon tea, dinner and an evening snack. H2O is able to cater for and food intolerance and allergies.
