Fleet in action - 2015 Melges 32 World Championship Audi Sailing Series http://audisailingseries.com/
The Melges 32 World Championship edition seven is ready to kick off in Trapani, 22 teams on the start line with top-notch international sailors challenging together.

This Audi tron Sailing Series's fifth act, series organized by B.Plan Sport and Events the Yacht Club Favignana together with the Melges Europe, sees American team Argo (Carroll-Appleton) as the favourite to get the King of Salt crown: Jason Carroll's boat with tactician Cameron Appleton, winner of the previous 2013 and 2014s world titles.

It's just the American boat-owner, president of the international Melges 32 Class that has arrived among the first teams here in Sicily that sayss: 'For sure it will be a great event: 22 teams coming from nine world nations are ready to write a very important page in the history of the Class. I'd like to deeply thank all organizers, starting from BPSE and Melges Europe, beside the main sponsor Audi and the City of Trapani for the amazing welcome.'

If on one hand Argo is the team to be beaten, on the other hand the crew is well aware of the continuos changes in the rankings throughout the whole season that up to now has seen three different teams celebrating at least one act victory: Stig (Rombelli-Bruni), First of the King in Loano and King of the Rocks in Portovenere, Torpyone (Lupi-Bressani), King of Poets in Portovenere, and Robertissima (Tomasini Grinover-Vascotto), King of the Lake in Riva del Garda and reigning series' leader.

Teams that will be trying to curb Argo's hegemony and get the next 'King of Salt' crown are Robertissima, with tactician Vasco Vascotto with 25 world titles in the cv, Torpyone, with tactician Lorenzo Bressani, already Melges 32 world winner and Stig, sees by many people as the main 'remedy' to the attacks of team Argo.

We can't underestimate potentials of Russian team Synergy (Zavadnikov-Horton), 2014 series leader, Delta (R. DeVos-Mckee), strong of Olympian Jonathan McKee, Volpe (D. DeVos-Mendelblatt) and Audi e-tron Fratelli Giacomel (Mocchegiani-Chieffi). Another potential Melges 32 World Champion, with some ups and downs, is G Spot (Serena di Lapigio-Brcin), interesting revelation of the ongoing season.

The Race Village and Audi Test Drives
A total of 10 races are foreseen starting from Wednesday 26th to Sunday 30th August. The first official act will be on Monday, after the practice race all teams will be presented to the public after an in-port guest race just opposite the Race Village by the Ammiraglio Staiti Avenue. Thanks to the main sponsor, car lovers will be given the opportunity to test some of the latest car models produced by the German automotive company from Ingolstadt from Friday 'til Sunday 30th August.
