2015 CORK International Optimist Regatta - Tough racing on Day 2

Today the Opti Green fleet had four races and the Opti Race fleet had three races with cloudy skies and five - seven knots of winds from the East. Regatta leader Adam Larson BER remains in first overall, placing one, fourteen, seven, in today’s races. Galen Richardson CAN sits in second, placing one, seven, two, today.

Richardson sits seven points behind Larson moving into the final day of racing. Tayte Stefaniuk BER sits in third overall. In the blue age division, Michael Kirkman USA sits in first, and in the white age division Charlie Gonzalez USA is first. All sailors finished the day in a group debrief with their fleets.

Tomorrow marks the last day of the CORK International Optimist Regatta. The St. Lawrence II Tall Ship will provide spectators with the opportunity to see the racing. The cost is $10 per person, with limited space available. Please sign up in the regatta office.

Night sailing, encountering light airs in the Transat Paprec, Congressional Cup We bundled up as the last of the rays sunlight dipped below the Olympic Mountains and night quietly fell on Puget Sound. We'd been racing for about twelve hours in the Seattle Yacht Club's Protection Island Race (April 26), and we were getting tired.
