The Qld IRC State Titles concluded on Sunday 5th with light winds forcing competitors to take full advantage of sail control and tactics to be in front of the fleet.

The day started with Black Jack Too, Corum and Gauntlet leading the competition after the first day’s racing. The second day saw light breezes with swifting winds averaging only five kts.

Black Jack Too was well sailed and crowned the overall winner. Final results were:

First: Black Jack Too
Second: The Fat Controller
Third: Corum

The SCOR Regatta is being conducted at the same time. With the light breezes yesterday only one race was conducted for the SCOR competitors. Blue Eagle, is currently leading the PHS Monohull division while Rum Raider is leading the Multihull division. Quest is leading the SCOR/IRC division.

Monday is a lay day, however, there will be plenty of opportunities for crews to test their skills on the water with the Viking Kayak Challenge. SCOR racing will resume tomorrow. Both events have been hosted by the Sunshine Coast Yacht Club and details can be seen on their website
