2015 Sunfish New England Regional overall

by International Sunfish Class Association on 17 Jun 2015
Barrington Yacht Club - 2015 Sunfish New England Regional Sunfish Class
2015 Sunfish New England Regional – Bill Brangiforte and Scott Greenbaum battled all weekend, but Brangiforte took home first place.

The event was held June 6-7 in Barrington, RI, and hosted by the Barrington Yacht Club. The weather was in the low 70s with a stiff Northeasterly breeze on Saturday that featured gusts well into the 20s and a more moderate but steady Southwesterly on Sunday. The big breeze on Saturday allowed for some fantastic reaches!

Brangiforte won three of the five races on day one to take the lead then held on with a consistent day two. He finished with a net score of 13 points, Greenbaum had 19 points, Amanda Callahan (third) had 28 points, Bill Shaw had 32 points, and Andy David rounded out the top five with 41 points.

A total of 16 boats competed, with many missing the regatta due to conflicts with high school graduations.

As always, the BYC were great hosts and Frank Hern and his race committee did a nice job managing the racing.
