Multihull Solutions Regatta – Phuket shaping up to become major event

by Kate Elkington on 1 Jun 2015
Early Bird entries are still open - 2015 Multihull Solutions Regatta – Phuket Multihull Solutions http://www.multihullsolutions.com.au/
Following the success of last year’s regatta, the 2015 Multihull Solutions Regatta – Phuket is shaping up to be one of the best events on this year’s cruising calendar.

Now in its eighth year, the Multihull Solutions Regatta – Phuket will be held from 9-12 July and is expected to have at least 25 multihulls participating, including a world first with the inclusion of four brand new Corsair Pulse 600s.

Multihull Solutions has renewed its major sponsorship of the event and is committed to remaining in partnership with organisers Ao Chalong Yacht Club for many years to come.

The Early Bird Entry Fee offer has been extended until 15 June to allow more multihulls the opportunity to join this exciting event, which combines three days of exhilarating racing with a jam-packed social calendar.

The regatta continues to be arguably the best value event of its kind in the southern hemisphere, with Early Bird entries costing only 3,500 Thai Baht per boat including skipper ($120 AUD) or 1,500 Thai Baht per crew member ($52 AUD).

The professional organisation, affordable fees, spectacular scenery and exceptional hospitality make the Multihull Solutions Regatta – Phuket an appealing regatta for both local sailors and multihull enthusiasts from Australia and New Zealand who escape for a tropical winter break on the water.

With very competitive airfares and accommodation in Thailand, the regatta is a superb way to experience the region and its breathtaking cruising grounds.

Participating multihulls in the 2015 regatta will include a range of Fountaine Pajot catamarans, which continue to be Multihull Solutions’ most successful brand due to their superior performance, quality of construction and value for money.

The Multihull Solutions Regatta – Phuket 2014 is open to all multihulls (catamarans and trimarans) with an overall length greater than six metres that are acceptable to the race committee. Private and charter multihulls are welcome to enter, and the regatta is expected to comprise the following classes: Racing Multihulls with valid OMR ratings; Firefly 850 Sports One Design Class; Cruising Multihulls without OMR ratings; and Classic Multihulls.

Multihull Solutions Asia general manager Andrew de Bruin said the 2015 regatta is set to be a huge success.

“We are thrilled to be onboard as a major sponsor for a second year, and are looking forward to working again with the ACYC to make the 2015 regatta one that sets a new benchmark for regional marine events,” Andrew said.

Following Multihull Solutions’ success in Australia and New Zealand, the company officially expanded its operations to southeast Asia in early 2014 with its Thailand office based in Phuket’s Boat Lagoon. The company is the exclusive distributor of Fountaine Pajot and Catana Catamarans in southeast Asia and also represents TAG Yachts, NEEL Trimarans and Privilège Catamarans in the region.

The Multihull Solutions Asian team works closely with the Australian and New Zealand teams to ensure new and existing clients are comprehensively serviced throughout the entire Australasian region. This network also expands the company’s pre-owned multihull brokerage, making it the largest in the Asia Pacific.
