RTI TV - Round the Island Race onEdition 2014
Television coverage of the J.P. Morgan Asset Management Round the Island Race (RTI) is being significantly extended in 2015 to include live streaming of the Race to a global audience.

A new, dedicated outside-broadcast production unit will provide live, commentated coverage of the starts and early finishes on Race day, Saturday 27th June. The programme will be broadcast on EventTV in Cowes, at the Race Hubs in Hamble and Lymington and on the official Race website for viewers around the world to watch.

The live show will feature pre-race interviews with key competitors and Race officials, full coverage of each of the 11 starts from the Royal Yacht Squadron, as-live action from key parts of the Race course as the fleet of 1500+ yachts make their way around the Isle of Wight, audio interviews with leading competitors during the Race and live coverage of the first boats across the line back in Cowes.

The package will also incorporate live fleet tracking graphics, key results, weather updates and features from some of the Race sponsors. Two commentators will anchor the show and keep viewers updated with the latest race progress information and news from the Race.

This initiative will enhance the live coverage and post-race engagement with Race followers, achieve additional exposure for the Title Sponsor and Race Partners as well as the Race organisers, the Island Sailing Club, to a worldwide audience whilst also adding a new and powerful dimension to the Race social engagement.

Commenting on the launch of RTI TV and the enhanced coverage of this most famous of one-day races, ISC Race Press Officer and a member of the Race Marketing team, Peta Stuart-Hunt, says that everyone involved in providing RTI TV, from the Race Management team through to a number of the Race Partners who are supporting it, is delighted to be expanding and extending the Race's reach with high calibre, compelling coverage:

'The Round the Island Race is utterly unique and is all about delivering an unforgettable experience to competitors, families and friends, sponsors, supporters around the world and the thousands of visitors to Cowes. RTI TV will share that incredible atmosphere, the buzz and the colour, the visual impact of such a massive fleet of yachts of all shapes and sizes, competing together, equally.'

Island Sailing Club Secretary Lea Bennett says:

'Everyone who competes in the Race loves it and the majority enter year after year. It is fantastic to be able to share that excitement with an even wider audience.'

On behalf of the Title Sponsor, J.P. Morgan Asset Management, Hetty Sowerby commented:

'The introduction of the RTI TV is a fantastic step forward for the Race to appeal to a much wider audience. Over our 11 year sponsorship, the Race has continued to grow, yet still holds its unique values, continuing to very much be a race for all. We hope those supporters who are unable to join on Race day can utilise this fantastic new addition.'

The Race organisers at the ISC have also recently announced the introduction of the two Race 'Hub Clubs' at the Royal Southern YC in Hamble and the Royal Lymington YC in Lymington and combined with the Live Streaming, this year's J.P. Morgan Asset Management Round the Island Race is all set as one of the world's greatest yachting events.

There's still plenty of time to sign up as standard entries don't close until midnight on 13th June. http://www.rtir.me/entries and late entries are accepted right up until noon on 24th June.

The Island Sailing Club is grateful for the continued support of the Race Title Sponsor, J.P. Morgan Asset Management, and the Race Partners: Dream Yacht Charter, Haven Knox-Johnston, Henri Lloyd, Old Pulteney, Raymarine, Volvo Car UK.
