Silent World II to steal the limelight at SCIBS

Launched in 1991 by Christensen Yachts in the US, then extensively refurbished in 2007, Silent World II has been exquisitely maintained and for those seeking a dream-yacht for family cruising or charter operation, she will make an excellent buy.

According to broker, Dean Leigh-Smith, to buy new, her equivalent would run into the tens of millions and take 20 months or more to build.

“Silent World II is a genuine, world-class superyacht, ideal for long-range cruising and registered for private or commercial use,” explains Dean. “She has a nearly 8-metre beam, creating huge liveable space throughout the yacht. Onboard there are four guest cabins for up to eight guests and three crew cabins and she comes as a fully-managed vessel – crew, gear and all.”

The major refit included a new open aft deck and a new flatcreen-style wheelhouse. One of the twin cabins was reworked and can convert to a double, making it ideal for either couples or families. All the carpet, upholstery, blinds and linens were also replaced.

Silent World II is decorated in a classic, elegant style, still with plenty of scope for her new owners to stamp their personal touch. The formal dining room seats eight guests while the main saloon is the ideal socialising space for relaxing in comfort.

Other standout features include a country kitchen / chef’s galley with stainless steel European appliances and granite benchtops throughout, and the dining area adjacent on main deck level which suits the Aussie way of entertaining. The huge space on the second deck for tenders and RIBS can be easily replaced by sun-pads, day beds, barbeque grill and dining setting for superb entertaining.

A walk-around Portuguese bridge and vast aft undercover deck is perfect for alfresco dining, corporate functions or cocktails, while the cockpit is the ideal platform for fishing, diving and fuss-free access to a full array of watertoys.
