We at Sail-World.com have often been critical of ISAF decision making and sadly it seems will have reasons to continue to be so, but frankly it does look like ISAF is gradually getting things right with the Sailing World Cup.
The ISAF Sailing World Cup was recognised as dysfunctional in 2013 and a painful rebuilding process began.

A year ago in April 2014 Sail-World interviewed the newly appointed Head of the ISAF Sailing World Cup John Craig.
Originally a Vancouver based sailing coach who for 10 years was the Canadian Olympic Sailing Coach before a 10 year stint at St Francis Yacht Club, was fresh from his Principal Race Officer role with the 34th America's Cup.
At that time he admitted there were quite some work to do to deliver the ISAF vision.
With Hyeres being the first of the new format World Cup regattas, here is a mid-term report.
Post interview Craig forecast prize money of €150,000 for each of the World Cup events and €250,000 for the finals.
