Expressions of Interest close Wednesday 22 April Jenna Walters
Join the likes of James Spithill (current Americas Cup Dual Winning Skipper), Zane Gills (bowman on Telefonica, Volvo Ocean Race), Nicky Souter (Women’s World Match Racing Champion), Nina Curtis (Silver Medal at the London Olympics in Women’s Match Racing) with the RPAYC Youth Development Program. This youth elite athlete program is designed for sailors aged 16-24 years who are ready to take their sailing to a whole new level.

With a fleet of new Elliot 7’s, the Alfred’s are accepting online Expressions of Interests from applicants interested in joining the 2015-2016 squad.

The RPAYC Youth Development Program (open to both members and non-members) includes not only improving existing sailing skills in Fleet and Match Racing, but also includes boat maintenance, gym fitness sessions, lectures and seminars and inclusion in all club activities ranging from Race Management, volunteer coaching and crewing on members keelboats and centreboard racing.

The holistic program runs over the winter months from May through to spring in October. On graduating the program participants will regularly compete in the spring and summer events at the club (Sprints Series, Short Ocean Pointscore/BWPS Series and Centreboard racing) as well as train for and compete in a variety of Fleet and Match racing events locally, Interstate and Intentionally.

Selection is based on sailors resume and results. Contact the RPAYC Club Coach, Tom Spithill (tom.spithill@rpayc.com.au) for more information about the Program or visit the RPAYC website.
