2014 - 15 Volvo Ocean Race - Today is in-port race day here in Itajai, Brazil and after an intense few weeks the determined men of Dongfeng are getting ready to do what they do best. Race.

This morning’s team meeting consisted of a well-done speech from Bruno, followed by a few ‘please don’t break the boat this time’ comments from the shore team and a bit of classic French humour.

“Last week was a race against time for the shore crew and they did an amazing job. Now it’s our turn – we need to do what we do best and race. I mean if we can perform the way they have performed we can win the race I think. My goal for today and the next leg? To be up to the standards of my shore crew.” – Charles Caudrelier.

Excited to get back out on the water, the crew for today’s in-port race will also be the crew for the next leg. The ‘married couple’ Charles and Pascal are back, followed by French sailors Eric Peron, Kevin Escoffier and Thomas Rouxell.

The only Swedish sailor in the entire race, Martin Strömberg and of course Chinese sailors Liu Xue (Black) and Chen Jin Hao (Horace). The Onboard Reporter for this leg will be the American, Sam Greenfield so we can look forward to some more drone-tastic images – although if he drops this one in the water we can confirm we will have to get DPI as an official sponsor!
