Precision Racing - Gillette World Sport - 49er training camp Australian Sailing Team
Gillette World Sport visited Wangi, Lake Macquarie in March for the final 49er training camp ahead of the ISAF Sailing World Cup in Hyères, France (22-26 April) and spoke to Australian Sailing Team’s Olympic gold medallists Nathan Outteridge (NSW) and Iain Jensen (NSW) about the skills and precision required in the sport of sailing and specifically for sailing the 49er men’s skiff.

Nathan Outteridge and Iain Outteridge explain in interviews what 49er sailing is all about, their different roles on the boat and sailing footage and graphics add the extra detail for everyone to understand.

In Nathan Outteridge’s words: “Goobs’ (Iain) job is to make the boat go fast, and my job is to make it go the right way. If both of us get it right, we are on fire, but if one of us doesn’t get it right, it’s all over. ”

Nathan Outteridge and Iain Jensen will kick-off their Rio Olympic selection season at the ISAF Sailing World Cup in Hyères, France with the duo both campaigning for the Rio 2016 Olympic Games as well as pursuing their Americas Cup campaign with Swedish team Artemis.

In between their busy schedule of competing all over the world for both their Rio, plus their Americas campaign, they love coming home to train on home waters at Wangi, Lake Macquarie, NSW.

Both videos include interviews with Nathan and Iain, plus great sailing footage of the Australian Sailing Team’s 49er crews of Nathan Outteridge and Iain Jensen, David Gilmour (WA) and Rhys Mara (VIC), plus Joel Turner (QLD) and Lewis Brake (QLD) training out of Wangi Sailing Club together with AST coach Emmett Lazich.

Gillette World Sport Show is broadcast in 140 countries worldwide.
