The 19th Etchells Australasian Winter Championship welcomes on board major sponsor Marinepool, a world leader in water sport clothing.

Marinepool is widely regarded internationally as one of the top sailing competition and lifestyle clothing suppliers. They are also the leading producer in Europe of life jackets for the leisure and sport market.

The company’s product lines comprise performance sailing clothing and outdoor garments, functional fashion for sailing and water sports as well as lifestyle clothing lines for women, men and children in a unique maritime style.

Marinepool is new to the Australian maritime community. The company recognises that the annual Etchells winters is a significant class event making it an attractive platform for Marinepool to start the process of raising the profile of its products within Australia.

Drew Jones, the Queensland Sales Manager for Marinepool considers the partnership between the Etchells winter championship and his company a “happy marriage” and will match Marinepool's existing partnerships including the Extreme Sailing Series, Alinghi, GAC Pindar, AUDI Sailing as well as national teams in Germany, France and Austria.

“Marinepool is the premier supplier of life jackets, technical garments and safety equipment. There is also the wet weather side of the company as well as the casual gear. I have been sailing for 30 years and have tried a lot of different products. Their wet weather products, quick dry products and sun protection products are probably the best I have seen.

“Marinepool has a lot of products that will suit the Etchells from life jackets to gloves to hats to wet weather gear and smocks. Marinepool will fit in because they have such a wide variety of clothing that covers all aspects of sailing, from dinghies to ocean racing.”

The Marinepool range will be on display and available for purchase at the winter championships, with a discount on offer for Etchells sailors.

The Marinepool Etchells Australasian Winter Championship is being conducted by Mooloolaba Yacht Club from June 4 to 7, 2015.
