Sixty-second Annual Golden Gate Bullship Race Pressure Drop . US
Twenty-two El Toros started, and all finished. The skies were clear, sunny, with northwesterly winds steadily increasing until most of the skippers sat on the rails. The predicted flood current took a number of boats close to Alcatraz, and nearly a dozen had to sail against the current from Fort Mason to the finish line.

Once again the Sausalito Yacht Club hosted the event, welcoming the slippers to launch from their float and providing refreshments. This is an invaluable service enjoyed by the Annual Bullship Race Association over the decades of this regatta.



Gran Admirante John Amen was assisted by Ruth Suzuki, Almiranta de los Barco-Toros; Vickie Gilmour and Gordie Nash, Vicealmirantes y Vigilantes de los Vientos; Arnold Quan, Tesorero; Duncan Carter, Registrador; Toni Richardson and John Dukat, Propagandistas; Gary Hartsock, Maestro de Toro Mercado, Indicador de las Resultas, and Inspector de los Aparatos; Peggy Darnall, Inspectora de los Aparatos and with Vickie Gilmour Compradoras de las Ropas.

Six “Cowship” escort vessels accompanied the fleet. The annual Cowship service award went to Eric Silva.
