Energa Group announced as title sponsor of Sopot Match Race

One of Poland’s largest energy companies, Energa Group, was announced this week as title sponsor of the Sopot Match Race, which will take place from the 29th July to 1st August 2015. The Energa Sopot Match Race is one of the seven world championship events on the World Match Racing Tour (WMRT) 2015/16 season.



WMRT Executive Director James Pleasance attended the press conference at the historic Bristol Hotel in central Warsaw alongside the World Championship trophy made by Garrard and Co, the world’s oldest jewellery company. He added, “It is fantastic to see such a prominent company as Energa increasing their sponsorship of sailing in Poland. We also look forward to introducing the company to the family of over 250 corporate partners involved across all of the World Match Racing Tour events.”

As part of the announcement, Energa also announced its sponsorship of the new Energa Yacht Racing Team led by Polish match racer Przemyslaw Tarnacki.



Energa Group is a market leader in Poland for the production of renewable energy. The company supplies electricity to over 2.9 million residential and business customers and has a value of over PLN 9.5 billion (USD 2.5billion). Energa joins an impressive list of partners of Sopot event including Albert Riele Watches, Dentsu Aegis, Ferrari, Prada, New Age Media, Moet and Chandon, Clever Frame, Garmin and Bavaria Yachts.



During the press conference, Energa Sopot Match Race and World Match Racing Tour official watch partner Albert Riele also presented the 2015 WMRT Limited Edition watch. The 'Premiere World Match Racing Tour Limited Edition' features a yacht timer function and is limited to just 500 pieces. Each watch is presented in a custom made display box with an extra rubber strap and bespoke leather traveler case.

The Limited Edition watches will be available for sale beginning May 2015.
