As the countdown to the 27th Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show, 21 to 24 May 2015 continues, the event is experiencing strong exhibitor bookings both on water and on land, with the Pavilions almost sold out.

Joining some of the world’s leading brands of boats and equipment, among them Sunseeker, Fleming, Maritimo, Hampton, Alaska, Horizon, Bering Yachts, Steber, Sea Ray, multihull and monohull sailing brands Lagoon, Lipari and Fontaine Pajot, are the next wave of dealers and marine companies eager to reach the 40,000 visitors who flock to SCIBS for the four-day event.

In a coup for SCIBS, Sundance Marine will bring the Italian-made Monte Carlo MC5 flybridge with its Tiffany blue hull – guaranteed to turn heads for its sleek styling and lavish interior finishes.

David Beck, director, states that he is aiming to attract a high calibre clientele for this prestigious brand and standout vessel. “The reason we’re going to SCIBS this year from Victoria is to build our brand presence in Queensland, broaden the appeal and take advantage of the media attention that SCIBS enjoys with local and international media.”
Internationally acclaimed, Australian-made marque, Palm Beach Motor Yachts will display two vessels at this year’s SCIBS: the PB55 and PB45.

Palm Beach Motor Yachts combine unparalleled craftsmanship, refinement and comfort in a supremely seaworthy vessel that suits US, Australian and European cruising.

The 55 was modelled on the company’s flagship 65 and comes with a two or three cabin layout and rear tender garage, with scope for owners to customise many of the interior features.

Based at Sanctuary Cove Marina, Integrity Motor Yachts is looking forward to another great SCIBS. According to Brett Flanagan, director and founder, Integrity will have four new boats on the show: the 320 express, 340 sedan, 380 sedan and 440 sedan.

“We’re proud to call Sanctuary Cove the home base for Integrity Motor Yachts and we are long term supporters of the Boat Show. It’s a great opportunity for our dealers from around the country and in New Zealand to come to the show together and represent our growing range. It’s always a successful show for us and we look forward to another great show this year where we’ll announce plans for some exciting new models that will soon join our range.”

Prestige bluewater cruising brand, Grand Banks will have the impressive 54 Heritage EU on the show.

The largest of the Heritage series fleet, the 54 Heritage EU provides the perfect solution for a couple or family looking for extended cruising capabilities. The 54EU is built on the same highly-acclaimed, GB-designed hull as the 53 Aleutian RP, with its V-drive propulsion system.

Local dealership, Nitro Marine will have more than 20 boats on show, including the Australian launch of the CSB Huntsman Explorer Hardtop (seven metre) and the Queensland launch of the Triton 179 TrX Bass boat, plus the new Pioneer 222 Sportfish centre console. Nitro Marine will also have the full range of Mercury inflatables, RIBS and console boats.

A long-time exhibitor, Nitro finds a receptive market at SCIBS each year. “It’s our home boat show, says Michael Waugh, the Queensland dealer for Huntsman and Pioneer, and Australian distributor for Triton.

“SCIBS is great for generating brand awareness and we always enjoy strong sales during the show and post-event. It’s also good to meet up with our international suppliers who make the trip to Australia.”

Ocean Alexander will display in the Marine Superyacht Pavilion this year alongside The Boat Works facility which will be showcasing the new 100 tonne Travelift and the facility’s brand new large refit sheds.

Australian Marine Wholesale will join the AIMEX manufacturers display in the Superyacht Pavilion. Principal, Errol Cain says he will have a new range of Bluewater watermakers, Lumitec LED lighting and select Raymarine and Garmin on the show, as well as the company’s latest 2015 catalogue. “SCIBS is a great show for us. This year’s we’re looking forward to being alongside some of the country’s premium marine businesses in the Marine Superyacht Pavilion. We always reach a good quality crowd, both wholesale and retail.”

This is the third year Horizon Shores will exhibit at SCIBS. Manager Paul Sorrell says the full-service marina -one of Australia’s largest and located on the northern Gold Coast - will be promoting its storage options, wet berths, dry storage, fuelling, chandlery, café and all the other essentials, as well as the option to buy or lease berths. “SCIBS is very useful for us to catch up with customers and network with other marinas. business to business is important too. We share the common goal of helping boat owners, showcasing our efforts and expertise. It’s a great social show too and always has good events for exhibitors.”

Port of Airlie is another landmark marina with a presence at SCIBS this year. Exhibiting in the Marine Superyacht Pavilion, Port of Airlie will be promoting the remaining the Cove and it’s complement of berths for sale.

“Each year, we highlight our progress, giving visitors our annual update and promoting the area,” explains manager, Andrew Forster. “Exhibiting at SCIBS has been fantastic for our brand awareness. Year on year, people have been able to follow our story and this has delivered great results for us.”

The Windcraft Group, which represents respected brands such as Hanse, Moody, Dehler and Solaris yachts, will be exhibiting the superlative Hanse 575.

Windcraft’s director Peter Hrones says the team is looking forward to this year’s SCIBS.

“The Windcraft Group supplies boats to buyers all over Australia and New Zealand. Sanctuary Cove is a great opportunity for Queenslanders to see some of our top quality brands. The Hanse 575 is a sleek and stunning Judel/Vrolijk yacht with an outstanding cockpit, revolutionary dinghy garage and contemporary, versatile interior.

“The 575 is a lot of volume for its price, and there’s a huge choice in terms of layout and fit-out. Hanse’s trademark self-tacking headsail and all lines leading aft allows easy short or single-handed sailing. Plus, it’s the only boat in its class that fits a jet tender in the dinghy garage. We’re really looking forward to showing the 100th boat at this year’s SCIBS”.

Local builder, Voyager Catamarans will release their brand new V625 Getaway, designed for people wanting an easily trailable vessel they can stay aboard for longer periods.

Derek Appleton explains: “As a specialised development of the V625 Enclosed Hardtop, this is perhaps the only 20-foot trailer boat in the world to feature a stand up shower and toilet and a double berth in the forward cabin, but still able to seat six in the cockpit, with table, cold storage, sink and cooking facilities. Then there’s the bait tank and cutting board for the fishermen!”

This brings the V625 series to a range of four models including the base model “Classic”, the “Sportsfish”, “Enclosed Hardtop” and the latest “Getaway” cruising version. “With a great looking, roomy, economical and stable platform, the V625 has the perfect combination of options to suit everybody,” Derek adds.

An exhibitor since 2008, Fraser Marine from the Sunshine Coast will have three of its Australian-made and owned Caribbean boats on the water this year. All models are stringently tested for Australian conditions with world-class quality control and are exported to 110 countries. With well over 55,000 boats over or 58 years, Caribbean have been known for their competitively priced, quality built all-rounders.

The Caribbean 35 is a spacious luxury flybridge cruiser and well known in the game fishing arena, offering twin cabin, twin diesel shaft drive, large cockpit and spacious saloon, ideal for coastal cruising and family boating, or for diving, fishing and other pastimes.

Darren Perkins from Fraser Marine says they will also have the Caribbean 2400 and 2300 on show – “both trailer-able, versatile, ideal for outer reef fishing trips while still being very comfortable for overnighting or weekends away”.

“The Caribbean brand is designed and built for Australian conditions,” he adds. “We build 16 to luxury 490-foot boats and our range suits game fishing to coastal bluewater cruising or entertaining family and friends.

“SCIBS works well for us. It has a good atmosphere, brings us new customers, and is valuable for the opportunity to talk with other exhibitors and see what’s new on the market, at every level, as well as networking with suppliers and other brands. We are a member of Marine Queensland so it’s valuable for keeping up to date with state-wide initiatives.”

Visitors to this year’s SCIBS will be able to travel via land, water and air, with up to a dozen transport options available to make accessing the 27th annual event easier than ever.

SCIBS organisers announced recently that for the first time since 1999, on-site parking will be available at the 2015 Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show.

Up to 1,000 parking spaces per day will be available on-site at Sanctuary Cove, located close to the entry of the show or via a short shuttle ride. Parking must be pre-booked online.

There’s also the free Park ‘n’ Ride coach service from Warner Bros Movie World, and helicopter transfers from Marina Mirage and Jupiters Casino (Jupiters’ guests only). Water taxis, limousines, Surfside Bus Services and a ferry service from Hope Harbour Marina are also available.

Free shuttle coaches will also run to and from the show from Helensvale Train Station.
