GC Marine Expo - Visitors will go Ballistic over new range of RIBS

by Emma Milne on 10 Mar 2015
The Ballistic 7.8m RIB is the flagship of the Ballistic range Emma Milne
The high-speed, dual-purpose range of Ballistic Rigid Inflatable Boats are set to make their Australian debut exclusively at the 2015 Gold Coast International Marine Expo (21-24 May).

As its name suggests, the Ballistic is fast, very fast – with an inflatable boat racing pedigree.

But, as Magnus Maynard from Ballistic RIBs Australia testifies, it is also one of the safest and most stable RIB’s on the market.

'Ballistic is already a recognised brand in the United States, the United Kingdom and South Africa, where they are manufactured,' says Magnus. 'They have unique reverse-scalloped chines that guarantee speed and stability, as well as a reinforced deep V-shaped hull which ensures exhilarating lift and performance.

'Ballistic RIBS are perfect for both offshore sea conditions as well as inland lakes and rivers – it’s this unrivalled ability to face a variety of water conditions, combined with the great passenger capacity, that sets Ballistic Ribs apart.'

Ballistic RIBs Australia – with their range from 3.3 metres to 7.8 metres – has never before been exhibited at a boat show in Australia, and nor have the Ballistic trailers that are hot-dipped galvanized and constructed to withstand the roughest terrains, as well as being fully equipped with disc brakes and waterproof lights.

Andrew Nevin from Ballistic RIBs Australia says the team is extremely excited about coming to the Expo.

'We are looking forward to making contact with prospective buyers, dealers and brokers – building on our success in New South Wales we are looking to expand Ballistic into the Queensland market in the latter half of this year, and then into Western Australia.

'Expo will give us the opportunity to establish networks with the larger yacht manufacturers too – our 3.3 metre RIB makes a fantastic tender!'

Event and Marketing Manager Emma Milne welcomed Ballistic to the growing list of new exhibitors, many of which will be showcasing new boat and product releases at the Expo – some for the first time in Queensland, some for the first time in Australia, and some for the first time in the world.

'Ballistic boats have been proven around the globe in many different ways: for commercial, leisure, high performance sport and race use,' she said.

'In fact, their Cape Town-based founder Ludolph Toerien earned national honours for South Africa racing rigid inflatable boats before he established his family manufacturing business.

'Ballistic now has ringing endorsements from the Operations Manager of Sir Richard Branson’s private island, Necker Island as well as from Bear Grylls, the leader of the Extreme Trans-Atlantic Expedition and star of hit TV show, Man vs Wild.'
