Sunday afternoon squall on Sydney Harbour and a Manly ferry is blasting its horn as an apparently out of control yacht, with sail number 1152 was in danger of colliding with the ferry.
No reaction from the yacht, its headsails and main luffing it continued on an altered path and does hit the stern of the ferry. Thankfully it seems without major damage or crew injury.
Was the yacht rudderless? Broken steering cables, the helmsperson, the only sailor on the boat, with a non-sailing crew injured or overboard??
Please watch the video!! Can you shed any light on this odd incident? Please tell us what you know at editor@sail-world.com
BTW Sail-World has over 8,000 Australian yachts in its databases, the only 1152 is SM1152 from Victoria, and this is not the boat.
