The Marion to Bermuda Race has been deemed a signature event by the Bermuda Tourism Authority as it is a proven entity, delivering on the core objectives of the BTA.

Since the first race in 1977, the Marion to Bermuda Race has brought hundreds of boats and their support crews to the island in alternating Junes to partake in not only sailing events but culinary, cultural, and tourism events as well.

'The Bermuda Tourism Authority recognizes the longstanding successful relationships built with the island's tourism sector and the Marion to Bermuda Race. The potential for partnering with the race in terms of BTA's goals for Bermuda's tourism development is significant. We are looking forward to developing that partnership further,' said Pat Phillip-Fairn Chief Product & Experiences Development Officer at BTA. 'The race has brought so much to Bermuda and we are eager to increase the benefits to the island even further. '

The Bermuda Tourism Authority has committed to assisting in promoting the race through digital channels, as well as assisting in the organization and execution of the race and race events. 'We consider the race to be another great event to leverage sailing experiences here and generate a new generation of visitors for Bermuda tourism, and we offer our full support,' said Ms. Phillip-Fairn.

'The accolade is not only fantastic for the race itself but also for the participants,' said Ray Cullum, Marion to Bermuda's Director of Marketing. 'In partnership with the BTA we will be able to offer our competitors and their guests a number of discounts, specials and other perks as a part of the Signature Event package.'

The 2015 Marion to Bermuda Race starts on June 19th in Marion, MA. Registration is now open for all cruising boats with a LOA of 32 feet or more. The Notice of Race is available online with all regulations for eligible entries.
