Volvo Ocean Race 2014 - DONFENG - Skipper : Charles Caudrelier North Sails http://www.northsails.com/
North Sails Group is pleased to announce the launch of our Chinese language website: www.cn.northsails.com. This new website is a resource for Chinese-speaking sailors and represents the first time North Sails company history, sailing products, services and technology have been described and detailed for the Chinese sailing community. In addition to company information, cn.northsails.com houses educational tips on sail trim and sailboat performance.

'It is important to let Chinese sailors know North Sails is here for them,' said Ken Read, president of North Sails Group. 'I spent time in China during the last two Volvo Ocean Races and have witnessed the enthusiasm for our sport firsthand. Our goal is to make sure North Sails is ready to support the Chinese market as it grows and sailing becomes a bigger part of the Chinese lifestyle.'

'Chinese sailors are hungry for information,' explained Steve Trebitsch, North Sails Hong Kong Loft Manager. 'They are quickly gaining experience and knowledge as the sailing market becomes more sophisticated. We hope to enhance the sailing experience by providing information and resources now and into the future.'

The website content is written in simplified Chinese and will be locally managed. 'The task of translating this website was complicated by the fact that we needed to translate sailing terms into the Chinese language,' explained Trebitch. 'Many sailing terms do not exist in Chinese yet so this is all new territory. We hope Chinese sailors will appreciate this resource and the ability to learn about North Sails in their native language.'

'North Sails is a leader in the sailing world, said Lui Xue (Black), member of Volvo Ocean Race Team Dongfeng. 'I am glad to see North Sails recognizes the potential and importance of Chinese sailing. The new website is an excellent way for Chinese sailors to learn more about the technology of sail products like the 3Di™ sails we use on the Volvo Race.'

North Sails can be seen on many top Chinese sailing teams and is the exclusive provider of sails to the Volvo Ocean Race.' North Sails products have been with me when I was racing in National Games, Asian Games and then big boat racing on the Swan 82s and now VOR,' explained Liu Ming, former member of the Chinese Olympic Sailing squad and crew member onboard Team Dongfeng.

North Sails plans to continue developing their presence in Mainland China and presently serves the market through a sales office and sail loft in Hong Kong.
