CWM FX London Boat Show – Henri Lloyd Merchandise launched

by Sarah Alexander on 10 Jan 2015
The range will include t-shirts, a hoody and a technical jacket Sarah Alexander
At the CWM FX London Boat Show Ben Ainslie Racing are excited to bring the first elements of the official BAR Merchandise Collection. Developed in conjunction with Henri Lloyd, the leading British sailing clothing specialist who are the team's Official Technical Clothing Supplier.

The new merchandise will be on sale from 9th Jan on the BAR stand (F002) at the Show, and online. The initial range will comprise men's and ladies' cotton polo shirts, short-sleeved T's (including a junior version), a full-zip cotton hoody, technical jacket and a quick-drying peaked cap.

The range will feature the 'BAR-oosh' team identity and, for a small charge, Henri Lloyd will be offering a kit personalisation service so you can add your name at the show – just like the BAR Sailing Team – and take it home with you on the day.

The full range will be launched in the summer when the new BAR headquarters opens in Portsmouth and will include a range of technical products, with all the innovations and design details that Henri Lloyd are famous for.

Henri Lloyd have always been at the forefront of technical innovation in marine clothing and introduced a number of design firsts which are now accepted as industry standards. Unsurprisingly, Henri Lloyd have had gear worn in almost every major Round the World Race over the past five decades.

Ben Ainslie Racing saw them as the ideal partner to develop the technical clothing required aboard the new foiling AC62 multi-hulls that will contest the 35th America's Cup. These boats challenge sailors with one of the most extreme inshore racing environments.

The high speed – up to 50mph – means the chilling effect of constant high apparent winds, and a deluge of very fast moving spray. The clothes must keep all this out, and be flexible enough to allow the sailors to move with agility on these lively platforms; not to mention maintaining the phenomenal power output required by these most physically demanding of racing boats
